Herbal warmth for lasting physical ease
Kizhi therapy is a classical Ayurvedic treatment in which medicated herbal bundles are heated and pressed across the body. Kizhi acts on muscle tissues, the deepest layers of which cannot usually be reached by conventional massages.
In Kizhi therapy, fresh or dry herbal medicines are tied into small fabric bundles, dipped in a medicated oil and applied to the body with rhythmical pressures. The Malayalam term "kizhi" means "poultice", and the treatment has been used in Kerala's Ayurvedic healing for centuries as a pain relief massage.
